Sketch on Til Morning
A journal of art, photography, works in progress, and creative moments from Canada’s West Coast.
There’s No Place Like Home
I showed my watercolour, A Splash of Seals, 8×10 in on paper in the exhibit called There’s No Place Like Home where members of the Saanich Peninsula Arts and Crafts Society (SPAC) displayed their interpretations of Vancouver Island. It was on display until November 30, 2025 at the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney, BC. The painting is inspired by my photo…

About Anke
I’m Anke Weber. I paint in acrylic, watercolour, and gouache, and I’m endlessly curious about new media and techniques. I live on the beautiful West Coast of Canada, where I love to be out and about with my camera. Sometimes my photos inspire my painting, sometimes they stand on their own, and sometimes they are simply for fun. After finishing my master’s in computer science, I worked in software development, marketing, and as a website designer and content creator. I enjoy combining words with images to create illustrated stories full of detail and colour.
