Bigfoot Sundance

Bigfoot Sundance is a red sun with big rays and sparkly dots of fabric on a crackled, antique golden background. I love her big foot and I imagine her dancing and stomping through a universe filled with laughter and joy. I envisioned her on a crackled background with light shining through the cracks. So I painted a bright yellow background first and added a layer of crackle paste. However, the crackle didn’t perform as I hoped for. It didn’t crack the paper but added a crumpled texture to the background. So I painted a layer of yellow ochre on top. Together with the yellow background it created the antique looking golden finish. The big sun rays are emphasized by dots of sparkly fabric that I accidentally found in one of the kid’s drawers, well loved but long forgotten.
