A Splash of Seals
My watercolour painting A Splash of Seals was part of the 2025 exhibition There’s No Place Like Home, where members of the Saanich Peninsula Arts and Crafts Society (SPAC) presented their interpretations of Vancouver Island. It’s an 8×10 in painting on paper.
It was inspired by a photograph I took of a group of seals at Race Rocks Ecological Reserve during an amazing boat trip a few years ago.
Right from the start, I imagined the seals in a rainbow of colours.
I also painted a smaller, card-sized 5 × 7-inch version, which sold previously at the 2025 SPAC Spring Art Show.
I think I will create much more versions and I can’t wait to see how they might change in each new work.
You can see more of my watercolour work in my painting gallery and there is also a gallery for hand-painted cards.
